Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star on why shes posing nude

Karlie Redd will soon be baring all for Playboy Plus, an all-nude online subscription component of the venerable men’s magazine.

The “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star is no stranger to photoshoots, but admits she was initially terrified to strip down.

“I was very nervous for two reasons: One, it’s Playboy, and two, there were extra cameras because the reality show was filming,” Redd told Page Six of the initial test shoot.

“But at the end of the day I had to hold myself in and have that confidence and exude that energy that I needed,” she added.

Earlier this year Vivid Entertainment offered the New York native a sex tape deal, which she refused.

“I wouldn’t even entertain it,” Redd declared.

When asked about Vivid’s pitch on “The Playboy Morning Show” earlier this year, Redd expressed interest in modeling for Playboy, which led to the upcoming shoot.

“[A sex tape] is on a whole different level, but I didn’t even question Playboy. I want to do everything Playboy again and again. It’s sexy, classy and everything to me.”

At age 37, this is Redd’s first time totally stripping down for the cameras, but she insists that age is just a number.

“They say 40 is the new 20 – that’s how I feel. I’m like a big kid, but I’m a big sexy kid. Madonna still tours and she looks gorgeous so if she can do it, I can do it,” explained Redd of the 57-year-old “Material Girl.”

Redd, a single mother, drew enough courage to expose herself for Playboy’s cameras for an initial test shoot but was less eager to tell her 20-year-old daughter, Jasmine, about her online editorial that will shoot and be published this fall.

“The conversation is coming up,” confessed Redd. “I’m going to show her all of the greats who have done it before me. You know how kids are – they think if this person did it then you must be cool.”
